Kate Middleton Wedding Makeup Praised by Princess Diana’s Makeup Artist

By Rachel Watkins

Kate Middleton--took the beauty world by surprise a few months ago when the news broke that she would do her own makeup for her and-Prince William's Royal Wedding. It was a fearless move from the Duchess to be, as the ceremony was not only one of the biggest days of her life, but also one of the most photographed and watched events of all time with about 1,900 guests and an-estimated 2 billion viewers.

Now she's a beauty risk taker if there ever was one! But her willingness to play makeup artist also further demonstrated her practical and accessible-nature.

Middleton wasn't unprepared, though, for the Royal Wedding spotlight. She received some serious how to tips in the form of private lessons with London-based makeup artist Arabella Preston. The results were picture perfect, with-makeup that accented the Duchess of Cambridge's natural--beauty glowing skin, eyes highlighted with a slight shimmer, a rosy cheek, and a light-pink glossy lip. Her look was clean and understated, and many beauty pros gave her the thumbs up.
But, according to Hollywood Life, Kate Middleton recently received the ultimate seal of approval--from Princess Diana's own makeup artist, no less. Of Middleton's wedding makeup, Mary Greenwell recently gushed, "I loved it! I was very impressed--with her look and proud that she did it on her own. Of course, I would have loved to do it! But I was thrilled with how she-looked. She did an amazing job."

Greenwell also talked a bit about her opinion of Princess Diana's look. She was a natural beauty and did not need much makeup. Her look was very-simple, gorgeous and polished. Nothing too glamorous, more of a natural look that accentuated her-beauty.
